Firmware Architect / Manager

Job Description: As a Firmware Architect/Manager, you will be responsible for defining and driving the firmware architecture, collaborating closely with hardware and software engineers to deliver robust and scalable solutions. In addition to hands-on implementation, you will also need to partition large tasks and delegate to a team of engineers. Your expertise in embedded systems, communication protocols, and firmware development will be crucial in shaping the success of our products.


Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage a team of firmware engineers, providing technical guidance, mentorship.
  • Define and drive the firmware architecture and development flow for PHY and communication chips.
  • Collaborate closely with hardware team to ensure seamless integration of firmware with the underlying system.
  • Conduct thorough testing, debugging, and performance optimization of firmware to ensure reliability and quality.  Participate in chip characterization/bringup in the lab.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into firmware specifications and designs.
  • Lead and participate in design reviews, code reviews, and other engineering activities to ensure high-quality firmware development.
  • Manage project timelines, resource allocation, and coordinate with stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of firmware solutions.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in firmware development for embedded systems (ARM, RISC-V)
  • Strong proficiency in low-level programming languages such as C and assembly.
  • Experience with firmware development tools, debuggers, and version control systems.
  • Familiarity with hardware design concepts and ability to collaborate effectively with hardware engineers.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
